Hi Renata, Welcome to the SurfPaints Interview Series!

1. Can you introduce yourself? Age, location, occupation, surfing experience?

Renata Costa, 39YO, Auckland(NZ), Têxtil and Natural Resources Artist, No surfing experience.

2. What made you want to paint these rocks?

I did these beautiful rocks to compose my Têxtil Art business pics.

3. Have you ever painted a Surfboard?

Only painted fins for my partner's surfboard.

4. Where do you get your inspiration from?

South American artistic identity

5. How do you rate your artistic skills?

Creative and bright

6. Roughly how long did it take to complete?

30mins for a couple of rocks

7. Any tips for preparing the surfboard before painting it?

washing and drying the rocks to get the perfect surface.

8. What was one tool or technique that helped you achieve this amazing design?

Using a thicker pen that gives lots of liquid when you press its point against the surface

9. What is your favourite thing about using SurfPaints?

They’re stable, and the art last longer. My rocks are sitting in my outdoor garden and never faded.

10. One piece of advice you would like to give others about painting a surfboard for their first time?

what is done is done. No regrets 😀
