Hi Tash, Welcome to the Surfpaints Interview Series!

Tash, dressed in her Fluro Friday best!

1. Can you introduce yourself? Age, location, occupation, surfing experience?
I am Tash. A passionate early childhood teacher. I am 49 and I have been surfing for 3 years following after move to the South Coast.

2. What made you want to paint your surfboard?
I love bright colours and patterns. I took inspiration from the colours from One Wave’s Fluro Friday events. I just wanted to be reminded of their Mental Health message while I am out in the water.

3. What Surfboard did you paint and why that one?
Modern’s, ‘The Boss’. I bought it from a friend because of the size and shape but it was just boring white.

4. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Our South Coast Fluro Group and a love of all things floral.

5. How do you rate your artistic skills?
An inner child is being released.

6. Roughly how long did it take to complete?
3 - 4 hours, Not long at all for a Long board.

7. Any tips for preparing the surfboard before painting it?
I just followed tips from social media accounts.

8. What was one tool that helped you achieve this amazing design?
I did a lot by freehand and tried not to overthink it.

9. What is your favourite thing about using Surfpaints?
An individual brand with one-of-a-kind results.

10. One piece of advice you would like to give others about painting a surfboard for their first time?
Have fun! Make it your own.
