Here is another story from a SurfPaints workshop
Kyle Brightside from Brightside Art, ran a 'Beers and Board' session in Edithvale, Victoria, using our SurfPaints pens and skateboard decks. Here is a little story from the epic night.
Our first Beers n Boards Session was a huge success! We worked with a local bar in Edithvale to collaborate on the event because Bo Gurks offer some of the best pizza around, as well as an excellent selection of killer Aussie craft beers! The whole point of these events is to give people a chance to be creative, provide the tools and some guidance for them to have fun expressing whatever comes to their mind and create some fun memories. I make a point that it's not an art lesson, it's all about having a go and getting creative with your imagination. Something that I think as adults, we sometimes lose touch with our imagination and forget to have fun!
So these events are an awesome way to re-ignite that imagination and have fun with mates. Without planning it, the event turned into an excellent men's night! With the whole group of men had a fantastic time coming together, sharing stories of fatherhood, skateboarding and expressing their creative ideas for what to paint on their boards.
We had paint markers thanks to SurfPaints. I made unique custom stencils for the guys to help inspire their creative flow and saw a great selection of styles on display! We also had some excellent door prizes thanks to a local skate brand. With the awesome feedback from the night we are excited to plan the next 18+ Beers n Boards night!
